Empowering Health: EIIHS Winter Intensive in Athens Elevates Student Expertise and Community Wellness

This January, our students at the European Institute of Integrative Health Sciences (EIIHS) gathered in Kifissia, Greece, for an enriching Winter Intensive Practicum. Every semester, this program brings together students from various stages of their educational journey to engage in intensive, live instruction and hands-on practice in a real-world setting.

A Commitment to Practical Learning

From the first day of their studies at EIIHS, our students are immersed in practical learning experiences. Even our first-year students play a critical role during the intensives, managing tasks such as welcoming clients and handling intake forms. This direct involvement ensures that from the very beginning, they are building the skills and confidence needed to excel in their future careers.

A Thriving Clinical Environment

This winter's clinic was particularly notable for the participation of two senior interns, May Bach and Zelda Mavrogianni, along with two new clinical interns from our third-year cohort, Eleftheria Spyridaki and Kamil Qandil. Over three weeks, these dedicated students showcased their growing expertise and professionalism. Their ability to connect with patients, assess their needs, and apply their knowledge underlines the effectiveness of our hands-on training approach.

Impactful Community Service

The clinic served dozens of patients, providing over a hundred hours of treatment. The services offered not only helped alleviate various ailments but also demonstrated the profound impact that skilled acupuncture can have on community health. Our students' commitment to service and excellence in practice provided valuable relief and support to our local community, reinforcing EIIHS’s mission to foster both student growth and public well-being.
